Sarah Chisem

Sarah Chisem

Sarah is one of our most experienced practitioners at the clinic, having worked in the healthcare sector for over 20 years. She initially qualified as a Foot Health Practitioner in 2002, but never one to stand still, she enrolled on the Podiatry degree programme at The University of Huddersfield, graduating with a 2:1 in 2010.

On top of her clinical work, Sarah has always been interested in research. She was awarded a research prize for achieving the highest mark amongst her cohort in her final year dissertation, where she explored the condition ‘plantar fasciopathy’ (commonly known as plantar fasciitis). More recently she has been studying and researching Women’s Health, and particularly how the menopause impacts foot health and the muscles and joints of the leg.

Sarah continues to invest in both her studies (regularly attending CPD lectures & workshops) and equipment. In 2022 Sarah introduced low-level laser therapy (LLLP) to Castle Clinic, ensuring we have cutting edge technology to help treat a wide range of acute and chronic foot conditions such as osteoarthritis of the knee and foot, plantar fasciopathy (heel pain), Achilles tendon problems and more. Sarah also works with custom orthotics, performs nail surgery and provides rehabilitation and lifestyle advice to help improve the various conditions she treats. She is also annotated to the POMS (Prescription Only Medication) register, meaning she is licenced to administer local anaesthetics for nail surgery and verruca needling.
