Traditional acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine, used for thousands of years to promote and support good health. In traditional Chinese philosophy, it is believed our health is dependent on the body’s energy (or ‘Qi’) moving freely through a series of channels and meridians below the surface of the skin. Qi is made up of two opposing, but equal parts: ‘Yin’ and ‘Yang’. In Chinese medicine, when there is an imbalance of these two parts of our energy, it is believed we are more likely to experience sub-optimal health, poor function or illness.
Our qualified & experienced acupuncturists use very fine, single-use needles inserted into specific points. These points, known as acupuncture points, correspond to energy pathways or meridians, that flow throughout the body. By stimulating these points, acupuncture promotes the free flow of vital energy, or Qi, to encourage the body to restore its natural balance and heal itself.
Whether you seek relief from chronic pain, stress, digestive problems, have fertility issues or wish to enhance your well-being, our acupuncturists look for the root cause of health problems, as well as treating the symptoms. Evaluating how lifestyle, emotions, stress, and diet contribute to health forms part of the tailor-made treatment approach.
Acupuncture is often used to treat a variety of conditions including:
